Projects - Motorola Corporation

Overview

CSIE was engaged by Motorola to manage and implement the relocation of the Mid-Western Area Computer Center (MACC). The scope of our services included the design of a 3,000 square foot command console, design review for the 70,000 square foot MACC, preliminary site readiness and overall project management for the relocation of the data center and Telecommunications network. CSIE’s fundamental objective was to implement the relocation for the MACC with uninterrupted services and operation of Motorola’s business. Development of the relocation plan involved the migration of four IBM mainframes and associated peripherals. Motorola’s project required worldwide communications network cutover and CSIE developed a plan to provide interim communications services while moving ten front-end processors and their associated communications lines. Services performed by CSIE included: Design review for data center, computer hardware planning, migration planning, migration implementation, telecommunications consulting, testing and facility commissioning, cable management and overall project management.
